Fuel
Pump

Disconnect the two wire connectors (fuel pump and fuel level)

Now you need to access the fuel line nut.  Lube this some more. Using a flared wrench, loosen and disconnect the LARGER NUT on the fuel line. DO NOT try and turn the lower fuel line nut.  You will break the fuel line to the fuel filler and have to buy a new one.

Completely lower the tank and remove it from under the car.

There are seven nuts that hold the fuel filler.  Remove them.

You might need a small screw driver to release the filler unit from the tank.

SLOWY, pull the fuel filler about an inch or so, allowing you to peek inside the tank.  You will have to jog the fuel filler piece out of the inside tank walls.

With the fuel filler/pump assembly out of the tank, remove the two nuts that hold the two wires to the pump.

Move the lower fuel host clamp away from the fuel pump.

Pull the fuel pump away from the fuel pump bracket (it is basically held in place by the lower rubber cushion).

There is a small clip that hold the fuel pump filter to the fuel pump.  It is very small and a real hassle to remove. I used a utility knife to get between the clip and fuel pump and slowly prying around the clip was able to remove it.  If you bought a new clip, then you can probably use wire snips to remove it.

Remove the fuel pump filter.

Assembly:
Press the new fuel pump filter on the fuel pump.  It's a very tight fit.  Install the new clip.

Re-assemble the fuel pump on the fuel pump bracket, connecting the fuel pump nozzle to the fuel hose, then slide the pump with cushion on to the bracket.

Re-install the two pump wires.

Put the new filler gasket on filler assembly.

Peeking inside the gas tank, you will see the four walls that surround the fuel pump location.  You need to angle the fuel pump so it lands within these walls.  The entire unit then needs to be turned so the fuel filler top is back to it's installed location.

Install the new 7 bolts.

Slide the tank under the car.

Raise the tank so that the fuel line can be connected.

Re-connect the steel fuel line to the fuel filler unit (22 ft-lb). Again, tighten the nut, don't put any rotating pressure on the nut welded to the fuel filler assembly.

Re-connect the gauge and fuel pump wires.

Raise the tank some more, aiming the inlet pipe to the fuel filler door. It really helps to have a friend help install the tank.  DIY can be a hassle.

Jack up the tank to install.  It's really tight under there so you might have to wrestle with it to get it to install.

Re-connect the two fuel lines in front of the tank.

Re-install the straps, pins/clips and bolts.  Bolts are 22 ft-lb.

Re-install the plastic stone shield.

Re-connect the rubber gasket, bolts and O-Ring at the fuel filler door.

You're done.

I suggest installing a new fuel filter while you're at it.

Add gas, and start the car.  It will cough and sputter until the fuel lines are completely filled (no air in lines).
