I've got a fair bit of corrosion on the piping for my heater under the hood. Any suggestions how to get these looking polished again? It's mostly covered by hoses but it still looks ugly.

A wire brush would do the trick. If the corrosion is lite, use a copper wire brush, if it's heavier build-up use the typical steel brush. For faster results use a rotary tool (Dremil or similar) with a wire brush attachment. That will make it nice a clean.
If you so desire, a quick shot of clear Rustoleum or Krylon will keep it looking clean, but be careful what you paint. Forgoing the paint route, occasionally wipe down the metal parts with Armour All, or similar, to keep them from corroding.
I don't belive in much, but I believe I'll have another drink.
