3.0 TURBO badge

I am having a limited number of 3.0 TURBO badges made up, same as the 2.8GT badges, machined out of aluminum bar stock and anodized with polished (al) letters. I did not request very many as I figured most who ordered the plastic version in the Toyota Japan group buy we did a year or so ago, probably won't be interested.

These badges are being done by the same shop that did the 2.8 badges so anyone who has seen those will know what the quality will be like.

I am having these made because I gave my last one away (which had to be sacrificed for a few days to be used as the model, thank you Mr. B) and I want one for the Turbo Toad. If anyone is interested, they will also be 30.00 shipped.

If anyone is interested, let me know. If no one is hey, that is cool. I did this to serve my own desires and I'll have the most expensive badge ever produced..... If more than 9 people are interested, I need to know quickly, as I only asked my friend to make 10. I expect that badges will be shipped to me next week so the wait time will be short.

Yes, exact replica. There are several versions (letter styles) available from Toyota. This one has lettering very similar to the TOYOTA badge that came on our cars, or the 2.8GT badge which didn't come on our cars. I can email a picture of it to anyone who wants to see what the Toyota plastic one looks like.

Yes, they are like the badge on suprasport. They have it listed as the 3rd from the top and describe it as a gray rear badge for 45.00 (plastic) I belive. funny because I believe it is a front badge not a rear badge. The aluminum badges will have the mounting posts to fit through the grille just like the oem TOYOTA badge does.

I don't honestly know. Someone who has one of the plastic ones would have to answer this one. I haven't seen one of these up close in over a year.

Just to clarify in case I made a mistake, Jay Balducci just pointed out that I may have pointed people to the wrong badge on SupraSort. The badge I am having machined is the one above on Phils car. It is listed on SupraSport, you figure out if He is charging 29.00 or 45.00. I can't figure the website out.

Either way, this badge will be 30.00 each and machined from aluminum not made from plastic. Since the back plate will be anodized, it should never fade or discolor like plastic will and the letters will definately never peel off like the silver on plastic will.

Just wanted to make sure that no one got the wrong impression. I really would not like to mislead anyone.

Bob, I will be up for a 2.8 Turbo badge. If you can get it made the same way that Les had gotten them made, that would be sweet. I have the 2.8 GT badge from Les on the car now, and it looks very nice. A 2.8 Turbo badge of the same design and quality would be a nice addition.

I picked up my original 3.0 turbo badge (plastic) + 2 of the new aluminum ones. Holly mackeral - they are just beautiful - background is anodized black and letters are polished off. The plastic ones use a self tapping screw for mounting , but the new ones are threaded. I'll see if I can find the metric size bolt that will fit and advise. Leslie should have the balance of them arriving to him in a few days and he'll take care of getting them out to everyone. Give a big thanks to Leslie for orchestrating this - you will not be disappointed. Jay B in AZ

I believe he's on vacation now, and a good friend of his in Arizona passed away - so I think he's there for a few days. Things have been kind of rough at work, and I think Les just needed some time off.

On a seperate note --

Not going into any details, but a few (un-named) individuals took advantage of him "financially" during the last couple of group buys he set up -- the strut bars and the badges. Some folks either didn't pay, or didn't pay the specified amount - and this frustrated him to no end.

Leslie was very disappointed with how it all came out, and I think he unsubbed from the Yahoo list and doesn't plan on posting on CS.com forum for a long while (if ever). It really sucks that this had to happen, he's a great guy, 100% honest and has bent over backwards for so many of us I've lost count.

He went into detail with me, about what exactly happened that made him want to back off from our group, but I don't think it would be appropriate to go into it on the forum.

So, if anyone is wondering where Leslie is....or why he's not online much, that's why. I'm sure he can be contacted via email if need be.

That about describes my feelings as well... Les is a great guy and will be missed.

I had that same conversation with Les and it became apparent that some folks just don't know how PayPal works or are too stubborn (in place of a more descriptive word) to figure it out. Calling Les names because of their ignorance of the process just didn't help the situation at all.

I'm also quite disappointed (in place of a much stronger term) with people who force someone as committed as Les is away from the group.

But I am also pleased to report that he's still committed to Supras and he'll continue to work on the cars. He's put the turbo timer in already and now he just needs to install the boost controller.

I'm sure we'll be seeing him again...

They came out very nice. Leslie says...they're actually nicer than the 2.8GT badges (and my 2.8GT badge is pretty damn nice looking).

I have no idea if he's going to be getting any additional ones made -- it would appear that every single one produced is already paid for or spoken for. Chances are good that this is it -- there won't be any more made.

The 2.8GT badges are CNC machined from Aluminum bar stock just like the 3.0 turbo badges are. They just have a slightly different font since they were made to be exact replicas of the Toyota badge.
