randyo156
01-24-2005, 01:48 PM

You never said if it was a 6m-ge or a 6m-gte? In my thread you said it was a 6m-gte. I'd want that.

kinda to be nosey, why didn't ssporthorse come get it ~four months ago when he won the auction?

randyo156
01-26-2005, 11:52 PM
im not exactly sure
he first made an excuse he didnt want to drive so far
then he said he will get it in 2 weeks
then he said he didnt want to spend his money on the car and hed pay me listing fees
and in the end i got jacked out of listing fees (paid a friend to list)
so no chance someone wants this as a whole car
everything works
even the motor (barley)
its a very good looking car,

Update
I started and drove the car today, it didnt have any trouble starting pu or idling, Just drove it around the block, reminds me of why i love this car so much
I really dont want to part this car out. Its a complete car with everything in tact, the motor runs. You could drive it out of here, I cant promise itll make it all the way but it should.
All reasonable offers accepted, i really need the space
i got a 106$ parking ticket (76 for no front plate) on this car thats due next week
so id really like to sell it and pay the ticket
Thanks

03-16-2005, 08:45 PM
1. Safely jack up car if you don't have a lift.
2. Drain trans (not a must but it will lessen the mess)
3. Remove the 4 (12mm)bolts that connect the front part of the propeller shaft to the rear (basicly at the mid-section)
4. Remove the 2 (14mm I belive) bolts from the carrier bearing and let the shaft hang.
5. More than likely the 2 pieces will not seperate by themselfs so... Hit them with a SOFTFACE hammer... and yes it must be a softface happer as not to bend the plates!
6. Slide shaft from transmission.
Easy as Pie :P

I need the fuel pump bracket and the 7 phillipshead screws that bolt it in to the top the fueltank and the 8 inches of hose that connects it to the fuel line.
I imagine if you dont want to remove the driveshaft for the other buyer, you probably dont want to remove the fuel tank either? But its very easy to do. LMK
Thanks,

give me a step by step and a price

jack up the assend, set it on stands and block it for safety.
Drain the fueltank - 3/8" drive ratchet/extension into plug on bottom center of tank (hopefully not much fuel in it so you can use a 5 gallon pail.)
open gasfiller-hatch and remove cap and collar - 3 small bolts, phillipsheads.
Remove black plastic molded shielding/skirting whatever it's called behind the right rear wheel. If I recall correctly, I think it's one or two small bolts behind the tire and the rest is just plastic pop-out connectors.
Next, disconnect the fuel lines. Get under the car look up in front of the tank and see three lines running from top of tank on passenger side to the driverside where they turn toward the front of the car. if I remember right, there is a bracket in front of center of tank securing the lines to the underside of the vehicle, undo the bolt holding it and remove the hose clamps or just cut the rubber lengths of the 2 smaller lines that have hose clamps on them BUT I need the other rubber line (the mainline)- it's about 7-8 inches long and has a fitting on the end to transition to the regular metal fuel line running to the front. And it may still be pressurized! If I recall correctly, 14mm and 17mm are the sizes of the two halves of the fitting. Flare nut wrenches would work best to keep from stripping the heads but open end wrenches will do if you're carefull. Hold the bigger side still (17mm) and turn 14mm ccw out of it. You can do the previous step (disconnecting the mainline)after dropping the tank down if it's easier for you.
The tank itself is held in by those two straps that are hinged in the back and bolted in front. Use a deepsocket and a long extension on your ratchet. I believe these 2 nuts are 17mm if I recall - the bolts are hardmounted to the body so you dont have to hold them with a second wrench just remove the 2 nuts, and then straps and tank should drop down freely.
On top of the tank, you will see where the fuel lines go in. That is the item I need - it is a round flat plate with the lines protuding out and the pump bracket inside - all one piece. I think it is held in by 7 phillipshead bolts. After removing the bolts, just pull and twist it out, the bracket on the inside extends to the bottom of the tank among the baffles.
If it is still in good shape with no corrosion I am offering $40 plus shipping.
It's not as difficult as it sounds.
I found this today: http://www.celicasupra.com/FuelPump.htm It might help you but his method is a little more involved than mine. And I want the fuel line included so disconnect the fuel line nut towards the driverside end and not the end closest to the tank.

Hi. If your going to get rid of the car, then you don't need to pay the parking cite. ON the front license plate, show up in court with proof of sale or demolition and maybe clear it. If you fail to pay the parking cite they hold the registration, but that's all.
