Allright i'm at the end of my damn rope. I reset the timing on my car and started it. It ran fine....and i could see the timing mark clearly at 10 degrees BTDC. After a few minutes the damn thing started acting up again...intake backfiring and sputtering when the gas is pushed. I pulled the codes and got a TPS...the sensor and harness is new...so I adjusted it to specs again. The car continued to f$@king stumble, but the timing mark was right on the money. I pulled the STOP fuse and reset the computer...clearing all codes and starting at a base map. I started the car and it ran great again....for several moments. I pulled out the timing light again and looked for the mark....waaaay too BDTC. I tried adjusting the distributor, but the mark didn't move. A few minutes went by and the car started missing like hell and eventually shut down. It will not start now...and there are no codes thrown. I did have the C.C. jumped...so don't ask. The new fuel pump and filter and injectors have never seen highway...so they're fine. Please help me....My fist hurts and now i need a new Driver's window.   :x

Also....I pulled my plugs and they're black and soaked...so i know i'm getting plenty of fuel. The wires, plugs, cap, rotor, ignitor, and coil are new...So i'm assuming the ignition is good.

your getting too much fuel is the problem. either the o2 is shot or the am is. unplug the tps and see if it changes nything. prolly wont. im guessing something wit the afm.

btw, airflow does play a part in timing. if you have a spare afm, swap it in.

Nah that's not it...i've got 3 afms...none of them work. It's always the same problem. I'm going to buy a new O2 tomorrow, but from my knowledge....that won't effect timing drastically once the car hits Closed loop. Unplugging the TPS doesn't help either. just raises the idle a bit and doesn't let the engine accelerate past 1500 rpms..period.

if the plugs are black. its severly rich. its in the fuel system, not the ignition.

What i'm thinking is that the injectors might be too big...I ordered them from NOPI.com. I don't know what the CC is on them though.. I assumed they were stock sized. But would that really affect timing?

fuel pressure regulator? Or vacuum to.

Since i've taken off most of the emissions system... I don't think it would be a vacuum problem. I did test for a vacuum leak by spraying starter fluid around....didn't find anything...I tested the fuel pressure...right on target. The regulator's new.
