I basically don't know to much about cars.
I've got my 84 celica supra, and the power steering squeaks when i turn. Its full of power steering fluid, but it still squeaks when i turn. Some people have told me that it could be the timing belt, but i don't know how to fix it.

Our cars power steering systems are supposed to use ATF(Automatic Transmission Fluid) not power steering fluid. This may be the cause of your squeaking. I suggest you flush the system with ATF and fill it up. It only takes a few pints.

As other's said, make sure it is ATF transmission fluid. Also, might be a good idea to take off your reservoir and clean it out with some denatured aclohol. When I took mine off for polishing, I found the screen that is in the bottom of the reservoir (not removable) was clogged solid with at least 1/8" of shit in there. I went to town with engien degreases, CLR and finally denatured alcohol to get it clear.

Mine squealed for a few minutes one day and I believe it was because of the clogged screen. Clean it out, put in nice fluid and you should be good to go. just don't drive around with straight powersteering fluid anymore and hopefully you will be ok.

Different fluid viscosity requirements for the PS pump. Switch to ATF & it will be quiet again!!!

GET RID OF THE PS FLUID NOW!!!! Switch to DEXRON II or better ATF.. Unless you like dealing w/ eventual PS pump failure, or a fried alternator, because you have fluid dripping on it!!!

<---- Has learned this the hard way....

wow, i was wondering why my power steering fluid was always all over that side of the engine, and why it was always low...

Yep. I learned about the PS fluid the hard way, as well. Alternator and all!!
