Crazy 85 door locks

I just recently got a silver 85 supra rust free beauty,and when I go to lock the doors they just pop back open and it wont let me lock it from the out side either,How do I disable this stupid door locking thing, its also got the stock alarm system if that has anything to do with it.

you have to hold the handle when you shut the door when you lock it from the inside. from the outside idk wtf is going on, maybe your doors are doing the same thing as everyone elses.

Doors unlocking themselves (http://www.celicasupra.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3658&start=0&postdays=0&postorder= asc&highlight=doors+unlocking+themselves) might help some if your running into an electrical problem.

try this, make sure the ignition switch is fully back tward you with your finger on the top button, and see if they do it then

my car has a worn ign switch, that will allow you to pull the key when the car is "OFF" but also in the "LOCK" position, make sure you can turn the key all the way back to the "LOCk" position with your finger on the black button on top of the ign switch, wich will tell the car that the keys are out of the ignition switch and that it can allow you to lock the door without locking the keys in it

well you can still actually lock the car, by holding down on both locks at the same time with the drivers door open, but if you read that thread it will help.

I know that Toyota designed the locks to help prevent lock-outs so you have to hold the handle opne when closing the door or the lock will pop back open.

how do u get rid of that design, its annoying the crap out of me, and how u have to open from the passengers side first, wtf is that, how do u take that off?

i sure wish i could open the passengers door from the outside. i hope you dont figure out how to disable the door unlocking mechanism and then come back with a "Help i locked my keys in the car running!" post lol.
