Hey folks, I have a seriously irritating problem that I can't figure out. The turn signals on my 1988 Supra do not work. I bought this car about a month ago so I'm assuming they didn't work for the previous owner. The car needed a water pump & radiator when I bought it, so I never drove it. Anyway, I bought a turn signal switch on eBay for $20 and replaced the switch today at work. Much to my surprise, the turn signals still don't work.
I know the hazards share the same relay (Flasher) as the turn signals, which is why it irritates me that the hazards still work! I checked the turn signal fuse in the driver's side kick panel (7.5 Amp) and it's fine. I even replaced it with a brand new 10A fuse just to make sure. I am completely lost as to what the problem could be with these turn signals.
I assume the problem must be somewhere before the flasher relay because when you flick the turn signal switch in either direction, you don't hear the flasher relay ticking. I can only assume that for some reason, the power is cut before it reaches the relay.
Does anyone have any experience with this problem or a suggestion as to what I might try next? Any help you can offer will be very much appreciated!

Not that I know squat about MK III, but look at:

There is the complete MK III TSRM on-line !

The only thing I can tell from that diagram is the fuse might be the cause of the problem. But since I ruled out the fuse, I'm still baffled as to why these signals don't work. Excellent insight as to the electrical route of the signals, though!

check your relays, check your search button.

I tried the search button and found the post about relays. Check my first post which specifies that I already checked the relay and it's fine.

Might also be the HAZARD switch that is not connecting the TURN fuse to the relay. Could also be the connector of the signal switch.
If you can, check that 12V is available to the relay in normal operation conditions.

What about the indicator stalk switch itself ?? Have you verified that this is working correctly ?? I've had to replace one these on another car I used to own.......

ROFL.. remember when I said the diagram told me that it could only be the fuse which I ruled out? Yeah well I jiggled the fuse back and forth and voila.. it blinked. All I had to do was pull the fuse out a bit and now they work flawlessly. Replaced the turn signal switch for nothing.. excellent
