well, my brother in law awrned me, and i didnt listen to him. he told me that one of my lights is shorting out, causing the battery to basicly drain itself. i learned the hard way tonight when i tried to start it to roll up my windows, the car wont start. so what would be the easiest way to find this short? kinda shitty huh?

which light? if its an interior light it would be any panels that the wire runs through. as far as any where else look for certain pinchor rub points or screws where it runs buy.

thats the thing, im not sure. thers no lights on, no lights flicker, the only way i can tell (of course it makes sense NOW that ive had the car for a month and a half and the battery only died now) of a short is the light warning every time i open the door. you know that annoying BEEP BEEP BEEP shit :)

one thing i would suggest is to get a multimeter and hook it up to your battery by checking amps....if its over .03A then you have an excessive draw, then pull fuses one at a time to see which cirucit its on, then find it in that circuit.

that beeping could mean that your ignition key is still in. make sure your key is the whole way back before you remove it.
another way is to pull fuses on certain accesories untill your voltage drop is stopped ( check by using a volt meter as mentioned).

well dont i feel like a dickhead. youre right, it was the key. my ignition switch is a little funky, so the key will come out even if the cars running. i didnt think anything of it becuase every time i turned off the car, id pull the key out and walk away, leaving the car in ACC(bad joo joo). if i had a stereo i would have known this. after i read your post, i went out and looked, played with the ignition switch a little and got it back to the lock position. at least i dont have to chase sparks now :)

same problem here, just remember that if you park it and leave it with ACC on, that means the car can be started without the key also if your power door locks work correctly, youll have trouble locking the car as with the ign on acc, the car thinks the key is still in the ign, thus preventing you from locking the doors by poping them back open, so you have an unlocked car with the ability to be started without the key, as a thief thinks "who could ask for more"
