Is it possible to Push start an automatic?

Need help Guys I've been having problems with my automatic. So far I can only start it in (N) or (P)as long as I jigle the stick"Lol sounds funny"

Anyways yesterday wile replacing the stereo , I moved the auto shift all the way back to (L) and the car while on a slant slighly moved back about two foot.

Now the car wont start at all engine does not crank, :(
Can an automatic be pushed started, Maybe in low gear?

its not possible to push start our toyota automatics. Its most likely your nuetral/safety switch that is the culprit.

:( nope, no push starting automatics in supras, but don't tell my firebirds powerglide(it has both front and rear pumps and WILL push start)

Well Thanks for your advice guys ,
What I ended up doing was I used speaker wire, to wrap it around one of the two wires from the terminals on the starter, and the other end touching the battery positive.

first it cranked but engine did not start, Then I realized that the key had to be in the ignition position on. "she fired staight up."

Now I dont have to pay for a tow truck to get the car at Toyota for
a nuetral/safty switch. :wink:
