Ok. I knew the o2 sensor was bad so I replaced it (after about a half hour melting the bolts off with a tourch cause they were stripped). Threw 2 new tires on the front (Yokohama Y388 H-rated 225/60/14) and did rear brake pads and resurface rotors.

Got the car off the lift and started it. Stumbled a lil popped up to 1800RPM for cold start then it bounced down to 400RPM up to 1100RPM back down to like 3-400RPM. Gave it some gas and took it out a little. Almost died everything durning downshift and idle.

It has fuel, spark and air so I'm tryin to figure out wtf? I'm still new to MKII's and search function didn't seem to help me much.
Also when I start it. It starts up normaly goes up the RPM scale for cold start then jus stops. I do know I left the OIL PSI sender wire off but I'm sure that wouldn't do anything but cause the guage not to move. Kinda pissed off cause I wanted to drive my baby this weekend

Incorrect/Bad O2 sensor? If it was running before you changed it, and that was the only change that affects the car performance that'd be my guess.

I'm thinking that the 02 sensor is a ND part. I don't think Toyota uses any Bosch parts other than those reworked by ND, but I may be wrong.

Yeah but it's funny... When I had the old o2 sensor on there I could unclip the connector and the car would run fine and no "SES" light until I got to around 90MPH. That's why I'm still tryin to figure out wtf is going on... good thing I didn't toss the old one. I'll hook it up tommrrow morning and hopefully get to drive it to Toyota lol

shutting the ignition off and then on a few seconds later after 5 minutes of driving may speed up the learning. Ign off causes short term learned data to be transferred to long term memory and resets short term memory. Short term has limits on the amount it can learn.

Did you disconnect the battery or pull the fuse??

I dunno what triggered the violent reaction or my crack head idea to test the AFM but the o2 sensor didn't do it! I had a dead AFM! Ran a few test on it with my scanner and it saidit was toast. Robbed one out of a junkyard car and it fired right up drove it to work today jus fine then on the ride home I had a very orgasmic event happen.... My HG blew! Blew compression chambers 5/6 as well as a water jacket as coolant was pouring out of the side by the headers (yeah I have the crapsetter headers...very turdrific...oh well they came on the car when I got it).

When the coolant stopped flowing out the side I put my stethiscope over cylenders 5/6 and it was nice to hear coolant boiling on the pistons.

Sad part is... I jus kinda laughed at the motor as I walked back in the house. As soon as that fed. income tax check comes in I'm getting the rest of my motor parts and a MKIII tranny anyways =-)

But I do thank you all for the helpfull advice and troubleshooting stuff
