i found a plastic box about 1' down the positive cable from the battery terminal that i think contains fuseable links. When I opened the box there was all kinds of corrosion dust. I cleaned that out and now it just looks like rusty metal and cracked plastic. Can someone tell me what they should look like or where i can buy a new one?

Or just any info on fuseable links would be good. thanks

A fuseable link look exactly like a normal wire.
It just that the wire itself will break (melt) if excessive current runs
through it.

usually when a fusible link melts you won't see it...take the link out and pull on both sides firmly. If the wire is done...it'll slide apart in your hands...another way to test it is just use a DMM on it.
