Battey Cable Lengths

Does anyone know off hand how long the the positive and negative cables are? I've just purchased an Optima Yellow Top and both leads are too short. I figure its time to replace them anyway.


EDIT: Also what is the gauge of each wire?

Length, I do not know off hand, but they are generally 6 AWG. I'd recommend upgrading slightly, to a 4 AWG, better current transfer.

i know the positive is 42" from battery to starter (i screwed up and bought a 49 inch cable :( ).. not sure about the negative... i have a negative cable i still need to install, but not totally sure on the length... it looks to be a little less than 24 inches though.

I'm going to pull both wires tomorrow and measure them, I was trying to get a set before my local autoparts place closed, but no luck, so i'll end up pulling them tomorrow.

They're both about 35" if anyone cares.. I plan to use the side terminals on the yellow top since they're no longer going to be the stock connectors, i'm going to use the top positive connection for my stereo.
