I'm tired as f*** right now so sorry if i dont make any sense. Can anyone tell my the location of the fuel pump of an '83 ?
Oh and I changed my spark plugs today and the spark plug cap won't fit snugly onto the plug on my #3 cylinder, is this normal ?

fuel pump is either in the tank or right in front of the tank on the passenger side. some 83's were internal, some external. as for the cap not fitting, you either have the wrong one or it isnt rotated correctly.

or a cross threaded plug too.. had this happen to me before. What's that ?
And I'm pretty sure that I used the correct cap as I noted where each wire went. So what is the correct way to rotate it correctly ?

what i mean is when the sparg plug got threaded in, the aluminum head threads could have got goofed up, not at all reffereing to the gap on the plug.. btw.. how did you put your plugs in? by hand at first i hope :!: :!:

by spark plug cap, you just mean the boot that slides along the plug wire? Cause if that is all you mean, sometimes you have to slide the rubber boot closer or further from the end of the wire to get it to snap in place right on the plug. If the wire snapped onto the plug alright but the rubber boot just won't stay snugly down in the hole, then hold the plug wire and push the rubber boot along the plug wire into the hole to remove the slack. I usually slide the rubber boots back from the end of the wire a bit to make sure the plug wire snaps onto the plug good, then slide the boots down into the hole with the wire attached to get them snug.

Got a set of wires from NAPA (they were Bosch, I believe and none of the plug covers would snug into the holes, and there was no way to slide the covers any lower on the wires.
Got a set of NGK's for 2nd Sup and they fit like a glove.

Yes, I was talking about the spark plug boot/cover. I'm pretty sure that the problem is just my #3 plug boot. I'm guessing that it expanded, probably from the heat of the head since it won't slide in even if the plug isn't there. Is there a quick/simple fix to this problem ?
