1jz vvti users please verfiy your turbo model

Alright guys, everything I have read in japanese says the 1jz vvto from the jzx100 came with a ct15b turbo, not there is some stupifd article in english that states it came with a ct26. I can:t convince anyone it came with a ct15b even though I have showed quite a few japanese pages listing the zstock turbo as a ct15b.

Anyone 1jz vvti owners please state your stock turbo.

there is one forum member with that motor in his mk2 here, and he doesn't check the forum much. I'm not sure which turbo that motor comes with myself. Supraforums might be a better place to check, theres alot more ijz swaps there, though almost all of them are the earlier twin turbo 1jz. You can also try and pm John, the guy with this motor swapped into his mk2, this is his thread here...

I actually read through his post and he mentioned he finally got the stock exhaust manifold and turbo, which he stated was a ct15b, but that still isnt enough for the guys at supra forums.

Anyhow, I decided to go the vvti route for my 1jz swap, so in a month or so, I should have a jzx100 clip sitting in my garage :)

i myslef would prefere the 1jz with ct26. lots of upgrades for that turbo, but not for the 1jz twin turbo's

I think you read the wrong thread. I got the complete 98 chaser auto clip(JZX100) with everyting intact. No where on the turbo housing that says what turbo it is. But I agree with you : CHASER (JZX100) COMES WITH THE CT15B : Not ct26,ct20,etc... According to the "Hyper Rev vol.26 Mark II Chaser(Jzx100)/Cresta(Jzx90" I do not speak or read Japanese but one can pick up a thing or two from just going thru the paragraphs. Between many characters has English letters and numbers. On page 88-89 they compare the older jzx90 to the newer jzx100. After the jzx90 it has ct12a and after jzx100 it has the ct15b along w/vvti. So I'm betting mine has the ct15b also.

Thanks for the input. All the japanes sources I have read stated they were ct15b also.
