does anybody know where the one seperate wire on the ECU end of the wiring harness goes? there are the 3 big plastic hookups and then that one seperate wire, i think it might be the ground but not sure, its black w/ red stripe, HELP!

yah we just did a couple engine pulls. the black/red wire dosn't hook up to anytihng.

does the ECU have to be bolted down in order to be grounded?

There's several ground points on the wire harness that ground the ECU to the engine so you could run it without securing it to the chassis. The PCB's inside the ECU don't ground to the aluminum frame of the ECU.
