when i bought my '83 Supra about one month ago, it came with H4 Halogen headlights. my question is, how can one tell if they are 'e-code' or 'DOT'? does it say 'DOT' or 'e-code' anywhere on the front of the headlights??

my headlights have the following inscriptions:
- 'IPF' (i think it's the brand)
- 'H4 HALOGEN'
- 'SAE-M80'
- '820'

thanks in advance,

Evan

I take it they are NOT sealed beam? And you are getting this information from the back of the bulb? If it doesn't say DOT or E-Code then they aren't.
