i have been searching around and have seen that a couple of people are running these sizes on their rides, my questions is before i buy rims, these will fit w/o any problems? a simple yes or no from someone who has these on there car will be sufficent for me to make the call to centerline.

P.S. thanks u william82 for trying to help me out on my 300zx brake questions in reguarding what rims to buy, but from what i have read and seen it is almost impossilbe to get rims to fit, u almost need like a 40 mm spacer from what i see.

*sorry for editing, but now that i think about it, i want to be able to rotate my tires, so having two different sizes wouldn't work*

new question, what offset if i am going to run 17x8's.

let me explain. i am getting qa 1's (once 935 gets a clue that if i don't get an answer from them in another couple of days, i'm going down there and settleing things my way), so the front will be lower than stock. my big worry is that i want the my rims NOT to hit my fenderflairs when i am in a corner and god forbid hit a bump. what is the best choice for an offset, 0mm, 10mm, 15mm, ect? i went outside and tried to measure everything, but when we are talking about MM i am not that good at seeing that small of a difference.

any help would be greatly appreciated, and sorry about the NOOB post, hopefully this will help someone else someday not seem like an ass (which is how i feel for keeping posting BS wheel posts) sorry ahead of time.

+10mm is normal for front. and youd prolly want 0 in the rear to fill the flares.

Well, hopefully the 17x9's are available from Centerline, last I heard, Charlie could only get 17x8's in the Venturas.

But when you order, you are not asked for Offset. Just type in backspacing for front and rear. In 17x8, I'd order 4.5" backspacing front and 4" backspacing for the rear.

For those of us with the 16x8 Centerline (Wes, Dave, me) Big Surs (as they are now called) - we all have the 4.5" backspacing - which is equivalent to a "0" offset. This allows rotation F<->R. I'm thinking of ordering another set of Big Surs or the Venturas but in 17x8 this time.. Wonder if we can get a small discount for buying the same wheels....Email me if you talk to Centerline and can obtain some discount for more than 1 set...Mine would be coming to AZ.

As Willian stated, +10mm for the fronts and 0mm for the rears on 17x8, 17x9 respectively. I have this and have no rubbing problems at the height I am at in the front. No problems period.

This is the setup I've recommended to anyone/everyone that has purchased custom multi-piece wheels from me. With 245/40R17, and 255/40R17 respectively.

i haven't called centerline yet, but i checked there website this morning, and it looks like they only offer 17x9.5 and 17x8's. i like the look of the 4' backspacing in the front and the 4.5 in the rear, and that pertains to the 17x8 all the way round or 17x8 (4' backspacing) front and 17x9 or 9.5 (4.5' backspacing) in the rear?

if they only offer 17x9.5 in the rear will 4.5' backspacing still work, or do i need like 4.75 or 5' backspacing for these not to rub. i am going to call centerline right now and see if they offer 17x9's

just called centerline, and they don't offer a 17x9 in the ventura, so my question is will a 17x9.5 work for the rear, and if so probally a 4.25' backspacing? my biggest concern is that i get wheels that will fit when i put them on, no suprises

or should i just go 17x8 all the way round w/ 4.5 front and 4 rear?

I am leaning towards 17x8 w/4.5 round. this way i can rotate my tires front-rear, thus extend miles on the tires. and if i have a problem with the wheels being too far inside the fender flairs, i can always use a spacer.

i still like the idea of big meats in the back like 9.5 wide though if they will fit

Call back and see if 9.5" wide is available.
I thought the venturas came widest 8".

If you choose to use a spacer in the back to preserve Front to Rear rotation, well, make sure you have them in hand and can use them. The problem is 12mm (1/2") spacer is a bad size. Either you need wheel studs 1/2" or so longer (I think the longest Toyota studs are LandCruiser ones, and they are only 1/4" longer than the mkII), or find a spacer that has 4 wheel studs. This spacer then has the problem of finding <12mm tall nuts and existing studs only 12mm tall so either doesn't go past the face of the spacer...

Given the choice of spacer versus proper wheel hoop / wheel center, I'd lean toward giving up F to R rotation and not have to mess with the spacers.

last time i looked online 9.5 is only good for the 5 lug not the 4 lug. one of these days when i have some extra cash ima try to get just a rear set of 17X9.5 @ 5" back spacing -- so then i will have 16X8 up front and 17x9.5 in rear. I bet you could get them made if you talk to the right people.

17X8 W/4.5" not 4" 4 will be give you way to much outer fender rub!!!!!!

ok, just ordered 17x8 with 4.5inch fronts and 17x9.5 with 5inch for the rears. total was just under 900 shipped

the only thing that centerline said was that there is a lot of stress on a four lug with 9.5' rim. should i consider changing my studs to a stronger stud? they said absolutly not draggin with these, buts thats ok because i am putting my 14's on with slicks anyways. they also said no high speeds, or just to be careful. can u guys forsee any problems that i might run into and if/how i can prepare for them?

ok, next question, tires. has anyone ran the new fusions? i hear that they perform great, are fairly cheap, and have good treadwear. anything better, don't want to spend more than 150 for a tire. what sizes are acceptable for the 8' wide and 9.5' wide?

again, thanks for all the help, and hopefully this will help someone in the future.

guess i better get that 7mgte in place of the 6mge because i am going to have a lot of rubber to push now.

if anything id just get some new stronger lugs/studs and call it a day O and some hub centric rings is a good idea. I still need to get some of those. I wouldnt worry about it they are just covering there ass like they should.

Please take some pics once you get them on the car. I was planning on getting the Venturas too, sometime in the near future :) maybe in the same size too.

Have these rims come in yet ?

We need PICS!

I did some looking for tires and it seems there is a large selection of 245/45/17 for the front and then for the rear a 275/40/17 has a large selection also.

I have seen many reviews for the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport, and at $121.00 a tire for the rears, thats a good price.

In these sizes they come out to almost exactly the same height and super close to stock tire height as well so the speedo will be good to go.

Thanks!

ok, so they can do the venturas in 9.5in wide? hmm. might need to start saving some money then. ill prolly get the whole rim powedercoated gunmetal or flat black though.

i realize that. i though charlie had called and they told him no. anyhow, as for studs breaking, just get the arp wheel studs. you should be fine. 4 lug studs held up with russ and joel launching on slicks. dont see why a 9.5in rim would or could stress the studs more then that.

How about a pic of the back of the rim and the measurement of the wheel center.

Nice 9.5's Dave.
Now you really need to get the camber right else you'll be flipping tires...

But in any case, traction is a good thing.

yea 4 4.5 and 4 4.25 i think

RSDEO are you asking for the center in the hoop to show difrence from 16 to 17 inch rim center?? Its not the same canter with bigger hoop the 17 is bigger.

I just wanted to see the distance between the hub and back of the spokes. Caliper clearance.
