hey, just wondering if these are a good deal or not (regardless of spacing)

http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=msg&th=73187&start=0&rid=11147&S=ec4a6e7d92bd9325029d6429b7ab1da0

i've talked him down to $1100, and he doesn' t seem like he'll go any lower. is he just asking too much, or would the restoration have cost enough to add an extra $500 to the average price of a battered set? (prices quoted in AUD).

Offset is a bit too high as well as the price. 15x6.5 isnt really a big upgrade either from stock rims.

15x6.5 puts you into 225/50s
you can get them from several different manufacturers at different price/performance points.

how is that not an upgrade? :)

theyre damn pretty wheels, ive got some impul promesh myself.

offset is a little high for a P type, on an L it would be great.
use some 5mm spacers and i would think itd look ok.

oh, and this line alone is worth about $300-400 dollars.
"All nuts, bolts, washers, and spring washers are brand new 304 stainless."

i was quoted about $240 for four sets of plain steel bolts, i would imagine stainless steel hardware would be MUCH more costly.

wow i'm surprised about the hardware price :/

would you say these figures pretty accurate in AUD? (the polishing and welding seem a little overpriced to me...but yet again I have next to no knowledge in this area)

These wheels will commonly have kerb damage, pitting and water / chemical damage to the alloy.
To get these wheels to the standard of the wheels I am selling it would cost you as follows;

Wheels: $450.00
Polishing: $1000.00
Stainless: $479.00
Welding, X-ray Testing, etc: $2000+
Glass Bead Blasting: $60.00

Total: $3989.00+

i have no idea how much labour costs are in australia, but i imagine if you went to the most expensive shop around you could easily spend that much.

polishing the lips id do myself, for a cost of about $40 in supplies.
hardware costs, no matter what.
welding...again, depending on costs, i dont think it would be anywhere near 2000$, maybe $500?
bead blasting seems like an average price.

yeah some of those prices seem way out of range to me...especially the polishing :/

and they haven't been electro-plated or anything special, but they were polished by some guy that does show cars supposedly.

i need to find a pic of an MKII with them on :D

are impul pro mesh made by Hayashi?

hoshino made the impul promesh,
at least thats what it says on my center caps.

polishing is time consuming, but cheap.

ask him if hes willing to go for a price you are willing to pay, and if not, get some cheaper wheels and refinish them yourself :)
