Just blew out a frost plug under the exaust manifold... damn looks like this is going to be a PITA to get a hammer in there.
it just puked out all the coolant, luckaly I got it to a friends house before it overheated.

hey, cmon now, might as well just pull off the exhaust manifold and save a ton of trouble.
itll cost you an exhaust gasket, but oh well...
best of luck in the repairs

my guess on why it failed would be the fact its been there for 400k kms
that and about 6,000 rpms
Yeah, I'm going to remove the exaust manifold... I'm just hoping the power steering Isn't in the way :?

were you revving it cold?
My brother blew 2 frost plugs out of my moms 93 Rolla by not letting it warm up. Coolant was thick and pressures were high. When he reved it hard, pop... out went a frost plug and the block heater.
Ive seen it happen on lots of cars that are abused in the winter, especially higher mile vehicles.
Just my 2¢

Dont want to sound stupid, but what are frost plugs? What do they do? etc

They are "plugs" cast into the block designed to pop out when the coolant freezes. They pop so the block doesnt crack, as water expands when it freezes. PITA if they pop when you dont want them to, a life saver if you coolant freezes, spares you getting a new block :)
