86 SUPRA / WHEELS need work...

Just recently purchased my 86 Supra.
Winter schedule already in process.
Body is good and will get a facelift....

Hearing lots of input on wheel polishing.
Mine are physically in good shape but definitely need a good polishing job or maybe a "chrome" job depending on prices....

I'm from the Ontario Ottawa area.
Any good advice ?
Any good shops out here ?
What are the prices ? (canadian $)

buy new ones so you can have a high performance tire selection that will complement the handling and the overall essence of the supra

Don't know of anyone in Eastern Canada that does wheel restore's on the P-Type wheels.

Do a search on "Wheel Collision". Yeah, they are located in the US, but for $100 each, they will restore the wheels to like new condition (clean, polish to the OE factory satin finish, I "think" they will clearcoat on top of that, and they will retain the factory machine lines on the surface). A little over $100 US for each wheel. Otherwise, I don't know of anyone else around who can do a better job.

Locally stock rims are $99 each to chrome, with trade in, plus tax. You should have a similar service near you.

Chrome might not look as good as restored, but you won't have to repolish them. It would be a nice touch to put the black lines back in.

I was just at Carcone's Auto Recycling and Wheel Refinishing today with a few TSC members and got a tour. THey do wheel refinishing and it looks like really nice work. media blasting, painting, programmed lathe, clearcoating the whole bit. They are in Aurora, Ontario on bloomingtom rd.

the wheel refinishing manager is Oliver Arpagaus. Thei finished product looked really nice and he said they have done many mk2 wheels before. Cost is about $100 CDN a wheel.
