I was wondering if I could put P type rims on a L type? I've seen People do it but just wanted to make sure that they won't scrub. I have lowered my car 1 inch if that makes any diffference?

Can be done, but you will have to use slightly smaller tires. I "think" the recommended size is 205/60's or 215/60's. 225/60 or bigger & you will have rubbing issues.

Yup, the rims fit fine.

I just put a set of 215/60/14 BF's on my 82 L.

Tiny rubbing issue with two screws under the front fenders at damn near max suspension travel. I should clearence it a bit ... but honestly, it's not a problem.

on my 82L, i rubbed on the front with 225's, but had no trouble on the back.

215/205's on the front should work well.

The rears of our L-Type cars can take a pretty big tire in the rear, say a 235 def maybe a 245. Its only the front that has the major issues.

Ask and you shall receive ... and it was done.

BF Radial T/A's 215/60/14 on all four corners on 82 Ltype.

its a real pity. i like the look of those wheels better, but both those p-type ones and the smaller l-type ones that look like that are quite hard to get in NZ, and even if i did get hold of some p-type wheels, they wouldnt be legal because they stick out further than the body.

Well, the front ones wouldnt be legal, but i would like to get the l-type ones on the front and p-type ones in the rear... the p-types fill the rear quite nicely.

Well due to some unfortunate events with my 82 I took off the ROH Snypers, (17x8 w/245/45s & 17x9 w/275/40s) and put them on the 83 L-type in the garage. I'll have to post some pics soon. They fit quite well. It's hard to be exactly sure with every clearance area because the car is completely stripped so the front is very high up and the rear has no spring insulators (ST springs in rear) and no rotors (which changes offset fitment. I believe if the inner fender lip in the rear was rolled there wouldn't be any issues, especially with stock height springs. I will be trying this out over the winter (maybe sooner) with the Dobinson stock height rears that are on the 82 right now. I'll be rolling the lips any way to make room for big slicks. The front doesn't seem to stick out any more than the P-type w/225 on the other side.

as has been said, P type wheels on an L type is fine.
215/60s fit with a little more breathing room, but 225s work too.

I'm interested in your results too... there are other L-types out there that are going to be in serious need of some wheels... wide ones.
