Hello All,

Does anyone have a wire colour decipher thingy table by anychance or notes as I'm about to commence wiring up the 1JZ and figuring out what Wire I need to snip/mend into the MA61 body harness? The wiring diagram that I got of a JZX90 is in 100% Japanese...

Cheers.

Basically... for the MA61 side of things... look at your electrical manual or a 7m swap site and take note of the basics that you need to hook up: main relay, constnat battery, ignition switch, ground, power for coils, injectors, idle speed valve, what else... speed sensor, starter signal, ac clutch, coolant sensor... that's about it I believe!

On the JZX90 harness side of things... well, main relay and constant battery are a bit tough, but the first is usually black/red, the second, black/yellow. Ignition switch, usually black/orange. Coils, injectors idle speed valve, ac clutch, coolant sensor-- the first two are usually black/orange, the idle speed power must be off the same line as the main relay, but basically, they are all easily traceable on the harness. So that leaves you with a handful to figure out that you cant really do by tracing the wires-- hopefully your japanese diagram will give you enough clues to do it.

Shiva, You wouldn't know what colour the wire is for the Oil Light? I can't seem to find it on the engine loom plugs...

Any Idea/Pictures would be great...

Cheers.

Oil Level wire is Green on my USDM 2JZ, Oil Pressure is yellow/black. Coresponding wire on the MKII Supra for oil pressure is yellow/blue, not sure what it is for oil level.

The oil pressure warning light and oil level warning of course will not operate on our MK2 as there is no provision in the dash for it.

Your best bet is to put a oil pressure sender in the stock 1J oil pressure switch location. You will need an elbow to clear the AC bracket or remove AC entirely.

Many wire colors are the same as the 91 USDM supra so you can get an idea from there.

hooking up the oil pressure switch is one of those pesky little odds and ends I have to doo... first I need to find a switch.

and like Robert said there's nothing on the mk2 for oil level. maybe hook it up to the [brake] light?

I forgot to mention to all of you, I have a digitial dash in comparison to that of the American's P-Type Analogue dash thus able to use the oil light. When we pulled out the engine out of the half cut, we know for sure that the oil light is part of the engine loom but which wire is it? What colour is it if anyone has a JZ loom laying around and what pin location?...

Cheers.

Digi dashes got a 'switch', analog got the 'guage'.

Funny, I was surfing and found a place (http://www.diypartscatalog.com/item.wws?mfr=FAE&sku=TOY062626&price=14.50&orpartno=1230149&cookieID=1EF10ZRXC1LX02V7C6&drillid=9&image=http%3A%2F%2Fcatimages2%2Esophio%2Ecom%2Fweb app%2Fwcs%2Fstores%2Fservlet%2Fimc%2Fimages%2Ffull %2F8353087705%2Ejpg) that had over a thousand of them...
