ALRIGHT ZANK!!! You're the one who wanted to see how the Centerline Sahara's looked on a MKII (and a Black one at that).... Here's the answer you've been waiting for. Since I have no clue when I'll see Bill Phillip's (Helmsman) 85 Maroonpra again (w/ his Sahara's).

Look good Robert!!!

nice wheels robert. is that a 4.5" backspacing all around? Thinking about picking up a set of the 17x9.5" venturas.

They are 17x8 with 4.5" Backspacing in the front which came out to a 0 offset. the Rears are 17x9.5 with 5" which came out to a -6mm offset in the rear. they cant do a 0 offset in a 17x9.5 or so they said they couldnt.

They ride nice and Smooth with the tires that I bought. Very Pleased with them so far. No fender on the front or the Rear.

Yea, Just moved to NM. Well, About 1 mile into it but Its NM reguardless. Anything to get away from El Paso, TX and all the Headaches there.

Good move. Get transferred to Ft. Carson and get to somewhere not so flat...

No rush on the parts. Just getting stuff in anticipation for the last smog in December 2006 on the 82's :D

Got a diff here for you when we get together, if you still need it.

Yeap, Still want. Just trying to get this Dam Oil Pressure Situation Resolved and I will be a Happy camper. With a New oil Pump installed, Im still reading barely over a 1/4 Pressure on the Gauge at 3000 RPMs. Only thing I can think of now is to add maybe 1/2 Shim to the pump. Wondering if the 85 Oil Pans ( The ones with the plate inside of them could Possible be Blocking the Oil Pump from sucking the correct amount of oil?

I pulled a pan (dented) off a 6m and noticed the wire mesh was imprinted on the inside of the pan. The oil pump screen was mishaped too.

So basically inside the oil pan, there is only the 'filter screen height' to draw oil if the pan is dented at all. The screen sits centered about an inch behind the drain plug if you want to check for a dent there.

I was able to straighten out the area by pounding with a 4lb lead sledge straight down on concrete like you were stabbing it.

Ok here is a Funny one. And Im sure a few can Asnwer this Question as well. I was talking to shawn via Landline tonight and we were talking about what might be causing my Problem with the oil Pressure.

Now, When I fill the engine up with Oil, It only takes 5 Quarts. Now remember that I have the oil Relocation Kit and a Oil Cooler installed which there is about 11ft of High Pressure line routing everything. Now saying that. I add 5 Quarts, Start her up, Give it time to Circulate through the system and then check it. Its showing full on the Stick.....

Shawn says that it should take like 6 to 7 Quarts of oil to fill it up. What do you all think?

what springs do you have in the rears?

with the 17x9.5 with 255/40/17 do you have any rubbing issues with the rear flare?

wow we might just have twins some time soon :)

Makes sense. :) Besides, a couple extra quarts don't hurt anything. Adjuster on SupraForums says he got (IIRC) 11 quarts in a 7M pan before it hit the crank. When the engine is running, there is less oil in the pan.

I have the ST Springs all the way around. No rubbing Issues at all and they fit very nicely under the car. You have about a 1/4 inch of Flare Sticking out over the tires. the 17x8s in the front with the 245/40/17 sit flush with the flare.

I can take a few Pics and send to you if you would like?

charlie

Im sure it will rub. A 4" backspacing in the Saharas would be like -31 offset. Since the 5" Backspacing is a -6 offset. They do make 265/40/17 tires that would fit it also but you might be looking at a flush fender and some Rubbing Issues. Im pretty dam sure 275s will rub. Ive seen some on a Mustang that I blew away and those things were wide as Hell.

Oh, By the way... Oil Pressure Issue Resolved. I must of had a Clogged oil Cooler, I cut the lines and routed them so It goes from the oil relocation Kit back to the Engine and the oil Pressure went right on up Past 1/2 way at around 3000 rpms.

I believe thats the size Dave is using for his rear tires and he had to shave off a bit on the inside of his flares to stop it from rubbing. Nothing Mr Grinder couldnt do :)

Hmmm I've read this thread twice and still have no idea what kind of wheels those are. They do look great on your car.

I love those rims! I have a question ... I want to get some custom centerlines but I am wondering whats the average weight for 17x8's? I like the Saharas and the venturas but I have been wondering what their weight is.

Those rims look sweet, I think I like them better than the Venturas even.
