Are you getting fuel? Maybe the fuel pump went south.

Why did you change the ignitor? Fishing in the Dark?
Are you getting spark? - pull the plug wire off one of the spark plugs and use a screwdriver to a metal spot while your buddy turns the key to see if you're even getting a spark. Or better yet have your buddy hold the plug wire while you crank it over - if he screams...
as far as your question about the starter - if you turn the key and the motor is turning over you prabably dont need a new starter.
When a car won't start, don't automatically assume the starter is bad.
Is there gas in the tank?

Sorry Phil, I wasn't tryiing to be a smart ass but basically you have to shoot trouble to narrow down where the problem may lie - the first 2 things to do is figure if you're getting fuel and spark. If you are getting both, then you have to figure why your spark isn't igniting the fuel.
I assume it turns over when you turn the key?
Lets start there for now.

In order for anyone here to shoot trouble long distance, we need a better grasp of what's going on there than you don't think it's getting any spark.
Did you check for spark? Yes or no. If yes - was there spark? If you didn't check - Pull the plug wire off any plug and stick a screwdriver into the end of the wire to make contact then hold it next (1/4 inch away) to a metal part that's handy like maybe the bracket for the power steering pump, then have someone turn the key for 5 seconds or so and watch to see if a spark jumps from the screwdriver to the metal part that you're holding it near.
Let us know what you got and we'll go from there.

FPR's also do not like sitting empty/dry for extended periods of time

An 85 I had fired up one day fine, a day or two later it dumped so much fuel into the engine she hydrolocked :(

But, like the boyz say above. You need to diagnose a few more things.

got a spare coil you can try?
Actually, try the same test with the coil high tension wire - unplug the distributor end and hold the end of the wire near a bolt on the fenderwell for discharge and have a buddy turn the key for a few seconds see if you get bright blue arc jumping from the end of the wire to see if coil is working.
