not to sound panicky but i just installed my pace setter header and o2 sensor i was driving it fine but then my engine light came on.
prior to the FULL installation, i guess my o2 sensor was sorta hanging from the cord and when i finally put the sensor in, it didnt have a gasket for a while. are o2 sensors sensitive enough that they can fuck up hella easily like that? (i was thinking about swapping them out anyways.
but i ALSO heard that pacesetter headers have poorly placed o2 sensor ports so does that make a difference in the o2 sensor? do i have to reposition the o2 sensor port? pelase help i need to smog soon!! :runaway:

move the o2 sensor into one of the main pipes, in the exhaust flow. that way it will get an accurate reading.

ditto... the O2 sensors are poorly placed on the pace setters and need to be moved so as not to make the car throw codes.

Typically moving an o2 sensor On a smog legal header with a CARB executive number is a no no and most shops wont do it so buddie up with a welder
... on second thought, it dosent hurt to ask, most people like to take on short side jobs.

Does not apply here..... Pacesetter header does not have a CARB#. If it was a Thorley header, then that's another story.
Plus, judging by his location information, it looks like he's in Pittsburg, PA??? Not Cali??? The Pacesetter would not pass emissions in CAL due to the lack of a CARB#. To my knowledge, PA does not have CAL style emissions testing???
I would say go ahead & ask your muffler shop guy.

Gotcha............
Someone fill me in on this one...... When did the Pacesetter header become CARB legal???? For the longest time, the Thorley was the only one in Cali that was CARB legal.
At anyrate, this now becomes a funky situation because the factory O2 sensor bung IS in a crappy location on the Pacesetter. The only way to get a correct signal from the sensor is to relocate it....

just register your car in Calaveras county here in california, we don't have any smog laws, only if you want to sell your car :D
that is why i am able to run 2.5" straight back, testpipe, and flowmaster and no one messes with me.
