Cruise control

My cruise control switch comes on as default when I start my car.

The cruise doesn't work and I'm wondering if the light on at start is the key to my problem.

That's an odd one. Once you shut the light off, it should not come back on until you press the button again.

I don't know if it will cover this unique situation, but did you look at the diagnostics pages on the Online TSRM????

Actually on my '86 if you leave the button pressed in the on position then it will be on until you shut it off. It does not reset.
