Hey guys, last week my passenger side power window switch started acting up. It appears that it works better if you press the switch trim panel down. The window goes up and down fine using the driver's side switches but not the left.

Before I tear into this, does anbody have any suggestions? I assume that the switch it's self is almost dead. could it be a loose wire going into the molex connector? some water or oil? I'd like to know if it is an easy fix before I track down a whole new switch.

Thanks,
Steve

I just took mine out while I was checking my power door locks. It's not that difficult, but it is made easier if you get one of those door panel clip tools. It looks like a small prybar with a screwdriver handle. It really helps removing the doorpanel without damaging the clips or hardboard. once the door panel is off the trim piece is held in place by these small speed nuts that were a challenge to not damage, too.

The manual has simple tests to check the switch operation and a visual inspection will show broken or corroded wires. Not as involved as your wheel polishing so well within your skills. I bet you fix it.

sometimes you can just take apart the switch clean the contacts and add a little electric grease adn that will fix it..but take the door panel apart or get the switch out and investigate a little bit.
