rough spoiler

I was just walking around my car the other day and i noticed on top of the spoiler that the back inch of it is like all rough like sandpaper... Has this happened to anyone else or knows what could cause this cause i have no idea. Or better yet, how i could fix this :)

I use to have the same on my Old 83 MK2 *RIP* :(

You need to sand it smooth, seal it and repaint.

hmm.. ok. what must be done must be done. Might take a while though. Thanks for the help.

I had mine redone for about $75. The shop painted it when they had another gloss black car to paint. Took a few weeks to work it in.

I have the same problem. I've tried all sorts of paint - they just soak in. As a temp. solution, a bit of ATF oil gives it a shine. But, it really needs sealing and painting. I just don't know what sort of sealer to use. Anyone?

Mybae a standard fiberglass resin painted on thin and then sanded?
