I have an 85 p-type that I am....lets say...annoying my wife with. It has the stock 14" wheels on it. I was able to remove the right front from the car but the left front will not come off. YES....the lugs have been removed and it is up off the ground. I have slammed on it with a rubber mallet and the end of a 2x4. Short of explosives and a small pachaderm, I am out of ideas.
ANYONE?????? :sadsmilie :dead hors :runaway:

Put the wheels back on, break, but don't loosen too much the wheel that's stuck, and drive it over and back over a shallow curb ('ghetto car ramp style').

I had this problem with my left rear wheel. I didn't think anything was taking it off until my friend with his 50 lb. off road jack slammed it into the tire twice. Man it just popped right off. Sounds like you had the right idea, just find something with a little more weight.

Anyone know why its doing this? Is it just corrosion?

Corrosion...aluminium and steel don't play well together.

Corrosion...aluminium and steel don't play well together. I hear that...damn wheel weights.
need ot knock it off somehow. try on the same path you were before, maybe some penetrating lube on the center part (usually the part that sticks) keep moving the wheel when you hit it or it will jam up.
In Autoshop used to just smash the POS car's wheels with a big, dirty sledge but that won't fly with aluminum. dangerous ken's method should work for you.
This happened with my mates AW11 MR2. That was a bitch to try to get off, being a front wheel, and the car being up on stands.
We just sprayed the holes where the studs are with WD40 (penetrating lube stuff) and after about 5 minutes it just came right off. Had 'rusted' to the hub.

at the shop i used to work at we just had a 12 pounder that we smacked the back of the tires with, careful, they fly.
also, try not to hit the rim with something that big, it will dent it.

What we do at our shop here to get off landcruiser tires and the like....we stick on one lugnut on a stud (not tightly just on the stud) then jack up the car and kick the tire from behind. Spray a bit of wd40 on the hub assembly before you do...it works every time with us.

penetrating lube on the studs and a soft hammer on the studs should brake it.
