Hey all,
are any of you able to source 'Headlight Protectors' (the little rubber bits that sit in front of the headlights - part number 54126-14011)?
I'm not having much luck finding them in Aus, and Toyota want a fortune for them (and won't even confirm if they can get them from Japan).
Anyone come up with any good alternatives?
Thanks
Peter

Welcome to the forums Peter.
Here in the US, (or at least here on the Forums), they are referred to as "headlight whiskers". Most peeps here in the northern part of the US & parts of Canada can get used ones from cars in salvage yards, most of them are still soft & pliable. Places in the southern part of the US.. Not as easy, most of them are dried out & cracking.
They're "sort of" available new @ Toyota, but yes, they want $$$$$$$
Best bet, is to place a posting in the "Wanted" forum & maybe someone can get you a used set that is not dried out.

Peter,
I have been chasing them down here in Victoria for many years now and only have been able to get one... Yep... one, the side that i needed. They are really rare down here and trust me, Yian on Toymods has been chasing for a set as well... If I stumble across one, I'll let you know...
Cheers.

Thanks guys - I'll try that out.
Chris - I think I remember you from the old mkII Yahoo discussion group. Good to meet again in cyberspace!

I see these all the time at the boneyard here, never knew they were a hot item. Guess i'll start picking them up for you, as I don't remember them being in bad condition, maybe just in need of a respray.
