Hey guys, ive fixed my starting problems, i had a crappy positive batterie clamp.

Now ive got another problem, if you are facing your engine, 5mge in an 84 ptype. The top left pully, its connected to some sort of resivor, i dont know what for, its like a goldish color with a lid/cap on top. Anyways, i think the pulley is wining, u can REALLY here it at idle, im curious if anyone has had this problem and how tehy fixed it, is this a serious problem if there is a wine?

That is the power steering fluid reseviour... the whining could be that it's low on fluid. Just fill it up with some ATF and see if it solves the problem.

fill, turn wheels from lock to lock, filling reseviour as nessessary to keep full.....

in my experience, filling the res on a whining PS pump didn't do a bit of good for me.... I had to bleed the air out of the system....

I'd flush all the fluid out and refill with ATF. The previous owner may have filled it with power steering fluid instead of the TOYOTA recommended ATF.

Be sure to lay plastic or rags over the alternator, it can be a messy job.

hmmm, so to flush out all the fluids, do i need to take that hose off the PS pump? if anyones got a quick description of how to do it properly, that would be great :D
