I am having a minor issue with my 1UZ-FE (in the LS400 not the Supra...) Its always been fine, except yesterday the low coolant light came on. This morning I checked, it was about an inch below the line on the reservoir.

The car NEVER overheats, even in 100+ weather with the AC on. There is NO condition in which I can make it overheat and the oil shows no sign of coolant mixture indicating a blown head gasket. I don't see anything leaking on the ground either.

The light went off, but the coolant is still slightly below normal when cold. After the motor warms up, the level will rise to normal.

I bought a gallon of the Toyota RED coolant and some distilled water. Can I just add some more, or should it be investigated?

Some of it probably evaporated over time. Unless its goes down rapidly and the car runs poor just keep it topped of.
