hey guys, i've got an awesome idea. i learned that the local dirt track's age limit is 14, so i might start racing. they have a 4 cylinder class, and we have an old 86 accord sitting around. what i could do is gut the car, and try to swap a fuel-injected engine in it. do you guys think this is a good idea?

You're going to want a RWD for a dirt track. Most dirt tracks around here are so rough they'd probably rip the wheels off a Honda

and dont most circle tracks require carbies anyway?

When i was looking into this for my 73 celica after i wrecked it that's what i found.

hmm.....i'm not sure. i didn't know that they might limit it to carbed. the guys there race little geos, so i think fwd would work.

they have one here too, is it the dohc cam engine? if you do it right it would scream, my prelude would fly, so if it has the same engine, you might do good, of course driving ability comes into play.

my accord is a sohc engine. do you think they would let me run a small turbo? if not, i could still build a sweet-ass n/a engine.

im assuming theres alot of turns on the track? if so, whats the point of a turbo? by the time you begin to build up boost, youll be braking to make the turn. i say manifold into straight pipes, no cat, muffler, or any of that nonesense. a cold air intake with one of those sleeves to keep tiny particles out and you should be set.

it's an oval track, so if i could use like a t-12, then i could build boost for the whole straight-a-way. i htink i'm going to go n/a though, so no one says that i'm cheating.
