well, finally made it. left on the 10th, flew to Baltimore for a night, had a blast, pretty much 5 hours of drinking at the hotel, then left to the hard rock cafe to drink some more. after that caught a plane to germany, stayed for an hour or so (no beer :( ) then off to Bahrain, a little island outside of Saudi. after that we went to our first hell hole, Al Udeide AB in Qatar. 4 days of 110 degree weather with 100%+ humidity. our plane kept getting cancelled, so we had to keep staying (was only supposed to be there for 18 hours). its not too bad of a place, but the heat is just killer... and believe me when i tell you, theres nothing there... not a tree to be found, anywhere.

flew into balad this morning, its one of those places... hear all kinds of bad shit, cant wait to see it. its not as hot here, theres realyl nothing to do... im tired as all hell, and im already at work. dont really know what else to say, they really stress watching out for mortars and stuff, i guess they hit kinda close to where we live and work. was taking a tour of the flightline earlier, and the guy was showing us all kinds of patched and shit where they hit.

ill keep you all updated, cant wait to get home, only 119 more days to go (out of a 120 dy deployment). we have (for he most part) unlimited internet at work, but its slower and dial up... it happens though.

later all.

Good luck! Don't spend too much time looking for car parts at the bazarr... I hear the selection is pretty limited.

ha, nah i think ill keep that limited to pictures... and maybe cubans if i can find them. id love some good cigars to take home. the PX here sucks ass, nothing worth buying. he weather sucks, yesterday we had this sand storm going on, dust everywhere, sucked to breathe becuase all you tasted was clay. for those of you that dont know, the sand here isnt typical sand, its a clay dust, very very VERY fine, you step on it and it makes a massive cloud... so the wind easily disturbs it.

well, thanks for all the kind words, ill be home soon enough. take care all, and where can i find some MK2 pix from SILV? would have loved to gone, but had to come here instead... theres always next year right?

later all,

Adam
