I posted for a picture of someone who photoshopped wings onto jellybeans and called it an mk4 meet and i got banned. No warning, not closed post no nothing. Fucking joke if you ask me, moderators with nothing to do but abuse their priviledges.

By the way, does anyone have that picture:)

yeah I don't like sf.com becuase it's just too big and the community isn't as close. They banned you for the picture? I don't like it becuase it's all about the mk4 and how great it is. Sure I dig mk4's but it's what everyone jocks they're. The origanisation of the sight is just stupid. And the forum it self is just ugly. I don't really like how v-bulletin looks, somehow cs.com has done the best job with it that I've seen to date. The only good thing about it is that you can reach more people. I go there about once to every 20 times I go here.-so I prefer cs.com to stupidforums anyday!-so again good work cs.com

I could probably get you unbanned if you want. What was your username there?

Bay_707 .... I only made 2 posts, my first one was a hi this is so and so and here is my car... and the second was the picture request :(. Thanks Alyssa.

he shouldn't have to have people pull strings to unban him IMO. some people take things too seriously.

That's why I call it stupidforums. The only good thing these days is the OT section. The majority of the site is pretty much MK4s & Mk3 guys that want Mk4 but can't afford them.

Bay_707 .... I only made 2 posts, my first one was a hi this is so and so and here is my car... and the second was the picture request :(. So they banned you because you own a MKII and asked for a picture poking fun at MKIVs. I'm sure if you had posted a picture of a MKIV it would have been alright.

Did anyone actually see the thread in question? A few may take their words back.

there was a guy in the n/a section doing a writeup on the ebay turbo kits for the 2jz. guy made over 400rwhp on stock fuel wit hthe t04 turbo they supplied, then he bought a t70 to try and they banned him before he could post results cause he was showing that the $1k ebay kits could make power just like the vendor kits that cost 4x as much or more. that place is all comercial now. its worse then when it used to go down all the time.

I'm sorry -- I banned you because I thought you were trolling.

I made a mistake and didn't realize you were just asking for a goofy picture. I apologize.

You are unbanned. Please don't let my stupidity reflect poorly on Supraforums.

No offence meant to you, but if you join a mainly mk4 based forum, and your second post is wanting to poke-fun at them... Asking for it. If you want, go join "happy happy make fun of eachother board" or you can be a contributing member to a technical-based automotive forum, your choice.

A.) Yea, its a litle harsh, I'll give you that.
B.) Out of all the people who join up and start poking fun right off the bat, how many are worth-a-shit members that ever give anything back to the community? ...about none, so I understand their pruning.

One of the problem with SF is the wannabe's. I have to hand it to the moderators... that forum is work in and of itself. Banning trolls, curtailing stupid threads, reigning in over-zealous members...With SF's popularity, it has been the hangout for non-Supra owners.. There are a few non-owners who have positive input.. but there are way too many that don't.

There are too many people trolling, and lying about owning the mk4. And of course, the mk4 owners have their characters too.. but too many yutes trying to one-up the orginal smack talkers.

Don't take this wrong, but if you think OT is the best part of SF, then truthfully you shouldn't be on SF. That is where all the rubbish tends to congregate.. it is the grease trap of the internet, the septic tank of SF...

Personally think the best part of SF is the Road Racing section. No-nonsense. Seriously watched over by the Mod's who have experience such as Chris (Quick) and others, as well as input given by those who have track experience. There is little tolerance for BS in that section.

There are good and bad. With a forum that large.. you inevitably run into tools and wads. .. and even sometimes.. the good guys loose it because of frustration.

Just my .02

Yeah I would like to clarify all mt dislikes with suprafourms minus the actuall colors of it are almost impossible to fix due to the size/popularity of the forum itself. It is great for networking and when I get a mk4 I will probably enjoy it more. I will say that I have MUCH respect for the moderators I've encontered such as chris. This must be one hell of an undertaking to manage. SF. was where I started buy CS is where I spend most of my time. Jeff orly is like a retarded version of really.(add drool). BTW love the grease trap analogy that is just priceless man. BTW bay no writing cursewords in you title's peeps want to view this forum without getting complints from HR at the office becuase Suzy mentopasal is having a hotflash day and seen the f-word on somone's screen.(needs to remember this as well)

The Mk3 section/forsale sections are the only reasons I go there now.

There is a rather high asshole to nice guy ratio among the moderators there. Some, are just as bad as they trolls they vilify, IMO.

drftsupramk2 - thank you for the kind words. it's a freaking mess between asshole non-supra owners and power-tripping moderators. *sigh* I'm not perfect but I admit when I fsck up and I try to do something to make it better.

Of course not man. Just a few of the 'Republican' mods that abuse their power in flame wars they often incite.

But my opinions about them got me in trouble before. :ugh:

I've seen mods do that, and when questioned they get mad, make a smart ass reply, and then they close, or lock the thread and give you a warning.
Nothing worse then that. A moderator has to be fair and equal, no matter what they believe in. They have to do what's right by the rules, even if it means kicking their own friends out.

It's just like judges in the supreme court.

In a Utopian society of moderators, we can expect them to be fair and just... hell in a Utopian society we wouldn't need moderators. In this you have to take the good with the bad. Every moderator that gets on there has some degree of distrust of any new person who hasn't established themselves. Unfortunately, this and every forum is a private forum. They all have agendas of some nature... some more misaligned with your personal thoughts than others.

Hell even I get misjudged on there just because I don't trash talk or have over 2000 posts. But what most people don't realize is that I have been a part of a team that used to race mkiv's in professional road racing. So I knew what worked and what didn't. I try to limit myself on the benign posts. If I see something I don't like, I will refrain from posting negative comments. I'd rather offer constructive criticism... than flat out negativity.

A good forum is based on mutual respect and appreciation for efforts seen and not seen. Popularity of a forum shouldn't be based on the amount of trash talking nor the amount of pornography. We can consider ourselves very lucky to have this forum, the moderators and the members that we do.

James R
