William, do you know of any differences, advantages / disadvantages to coil on plug versus upgraded coil?
Sounds like you found a cheaper alternative to the $200 'hot wires'.

well, with coil on plug, there is a hotter spark imho. though the msd coils would prolly work jst as well. this way though, there is no possibility of crossfiring from plug wires touching as the plug wires are just a couple inches straight down from the coil to the plug, plus, itll look cleaner.

plus since im going front facinging intake itll be even more noticable if i ihave wires so this should really help clean things up. plus i have 8 coils so will have 2 spares just in case i ever need them. thinking about going with the n/a valve covers i have too.

Are those things even going to reach the plug on a 7M? It seems like the "extender" section that goes down in the head on the 7M plug is alot longer.

it is longer on the 7m. im going to buy some 2jzgte wires. autozone doesnt sell them so ill prolly have to get them from toyota. not gonna be cheap im sure. im also gonna make a bracket for them to bolt too that will sit on the lips of the valvecovers. prolly will use stainless so it will ground he coils well and polish it. then run a gnd wire from the bracket tothe firewall.

p.s. advanced auto has them for like $64, but im still waiting on a quote from jay marks toyota. if they are similar in price ill grab the oem toyota stuff.
