I spotted this car in a commuter lot near me . The following is from my observations and the sellers description in the window. This looks to be an 82 or 83 model judging from the taillights. It is right hand drive and has the mirrors on the fenders and seller states that it is a JDM model. It has 15" wheels that look a lot like Compomotive CXNs The posted description says it has a 5MGEU engine. It has the Celica XX hood badge.
The car has issues. It was originally red but someone put a crappy dark gray paint job on it. There are a good many rust spots on it, but surprisingly the hatch did not look too bad on the outside. The car has blue cloth seats in it with either a dark blue or black interior. (Could not tell due to window tint and approaching darkness.) A good number of trim parts were missing, such as windshield squirter nozzles and headlight bezels. The side body trim is there but loose in places. The dash is TOAST!
The sellers contact phone number is 803 546 5665. The car is sitting in the commuter lot at the intersection of I-20 and US Hwy 378 between West Columbia and Lexington, SC. The SC license plate number is "DRIFT". Asking price is $1,300.00 or OBO. Sorry guys, I did not have a camera when I came across the car so no pics.

Not that bad considering the number of Celica xx sold in the US market.... 0 lol. For replacement parts couldn't we use parts off any mk.2 supra really well except the mirrors which i hope are electronically adjusted and work. I might have to give this guy a call thanks for the great info.

I think you could use many US domestic parts but the right hand drive dash replacement could be a B!tch.

i think 1300 is too much for the car, especially hearing about its missing parts , destroyed dash, rust parts, i saw one in really nice shape on ebay go for 2100.

I wonder what ever happened to this car? I actually bought and PAID for it when it was on Ebay but when hurricane Katrina hit I had to evacuate, relocate and in all of the confusion lost contact info, etc and couldn't pick the car up. So basically I just lost out on $1300 at a time I really could've used it. Anyway, guess they guy got his money from me then gave the car away???

If you got ripped for $1300 why not track him down? The 'new owner' scxx must know where he is and surely would like to help clean up any mess, being an upstanding member of this forum and all ....
