JDM motor...... Crapshoot on what you're getting, especially on the condition of the engine internals. Obviously nothing has been refurbished.

Uh huh.... 20K - 35K miles..... VERY HARD miles at that...... Run a search on postings that have discussed on the "general condition" of most JDM import motors. YOU DO KNOW THAT MOST JDM MOTORS have had VERY MINIMAL OIL CHANGES, IF ANY AT ALL????? Condition of the turbo is obviously going to be another crapshoot.

Yep.... No mention of a engine harness or if a ECU is included (In "most" cases, the engine harness has been hacked & you won't be getting a ECU). So who knows what year motor you will be getting...... Am betting that if you ask these guys what year specific motor yours will be, they'll just shrug their shoulders & say "I dunno"....

Warranty conditions are CLEARLY SPELLED OUT HERE.... 100% start-up warranty on the BLOCK ONLY.... Which in most cases means that if there is a problem w/ the motor & you decide to do some "investigating" on what's wrong (ie: removing the head from the shortblock), you've just voided your warranty.... Best thing to do FIRST, is to call the importer & ask them if it's okay to take apart your motor.

The majority of us here will STILL STAND by our usual advice that we've repeated many times!!!! PURCHASE A STILL RUNNING MKIII WITH A KNOWN RUNNING MOTOR....

Buy a JDM motor if you're absolutely desperate & you can't find anything decent up here in the PacNW.... Which can also be sort of a crapshoot, but it's not like we have a major shortage of 7M-GTE's up here. Then again, if you plan to do a total overhaul on the motor & don't care about the condition of the internals, than this is not a issue.

Caveat Emptor........ Unless you get UBER LUCKY, these are not exactly prestine motors.....

Eng is dead on on this one. If your planing on the 7mgte swap just find a running mkIII. the peace of mind to know its running and that you have the proper ECU is worth it....

yay drunkin posting
