Ok so im building my 5M and im going step by step according to what it says on the TSRM so that im somewhat guaranteed no to F!@# up. So I just put the timing belt case on with the waterpump and then it says to put on the " water bypass pipe". Is this the pipe that bolts onto the back of the waterpump and goes around the block. Heres a link to the page. it is step #12. Also what is the fuel hose support? Please bare with me this is my first 5M build so no BS comments. Thanks.

This water bypass hose (No. 3) comes off the back side of the thermostat housing, AKA water outlet housing (not the water pump, which is under the alternator) and runs under the air intake chamber. It is often referred to as the "suicide hose," because it is difficult to find/replace when the air intake is installed, and will fail at an inopportune time (just search here for "suicide hose" and you will see). I highly recommend you put in a new one! When I replace mine, I cut a Carquest 19098 to fit.
There are also 2 upper water bypass hoses, both around the top of the air intake (No 1 and No 2). One goes to the ISC valve, the other to the throttle body (and they are reassembled in step 20, with picture).

ok so the suicide hose is the long i guess metal pipe going from the back of the water pump housing around the back of the block and then about halfway to the front of the block and then a rubber hose gose from the end of that to the thermostat housing right? And Im going to replace everyhose on this engine while im doing this so nothin will crack and leak. When you say the pipe could fail.. how would it do that? Would it get rusted and have a hole in it? And you said the waterpump is under the alternator?? Its not like that on my motor. Did you get the two mixed up or am i understanding you wrong?

the bypass pipe IS the one that bolts to the waterpump and goes around the head TO the suicide hose, which goes into the thermostat housing.
the suicide hose is the rubber section under the intake manifold, YES it is a known issue, change it with the best quality rubber hose you can.

I got tired of that hose failing so I bought hydrolic hose... friggin stuff is very hard to get over the ends because it has no stretch to it and its very thick and hard... but I dont think it will ever fail.
