At 6:15pm EST she started again for the 1st time in 2.5 weeks.

The smoke is oil/grease from our hands burning off the header... and I took the camera up close to the intake for a sound reference as how loud the injectors are, lol.

Needless to say I'm happy. No noises, no knocks, nothing :woohoo:

It apparently didn't matter as the morons at your junkyard broke the pulley anyway :weaksauce but I thank ya a bunch for trying for me! <3

LOL those aren't the cams those are the fuel injectors, cams are quiet. when I 1st got this engine it looked like the cams had never even been used before

Sure it's not the fuel injectors? have you put a screwdriver to the valve covers and listened to see if the noise is coming from the cams and not somewhere else?

my cams have very minimal scoring and are quiet, the lash adjusters we bled thoroughly when we did the tower gasket replacement, they're also another source of obnoxious tapping.

I have 3 noises you can hear from the engine bay, the fuel injectors, the air filter sucking in air and my clutch whining (due to gas being spilt on it a long time ago)


Thanks evryone! I'm happy to have my baby back, it's so hard to be "good" though. These are going to be the longest 1500 miles of my life :hsugh:
