MK3 3.0 swap?

Chaps,

Not sure which engine designation it is (5/6MGE) :? :?: but will the NA 3.0 out of the MK3/4 fit straight in?

My 2.8 needs a few bits, and the way I see it I might as well upgrade the whole engine.

Any info would be much appreciated.

the 6m-ge will swap right in but if you have emissions check you'll need to use your old intake manifold that has the egr ports on it.

if you go with the 7m-ge from the mk3 then you might as well swap in a 7m-gte because you'll still have to do some engine wiring harness modifications.

If the 6M-GE goes staright in without any headaches, that's the baby for me!

Would I be right in thinking the 6M-GE is the 3.0 12Valve and the 7M-GE is the 24Valve?

Yes the
5MGE--2.8- 12 valve (in the mk2)
6MGE--3.0- 12 valve (direct swap into the mk2)
7MGE--3.0- 24 valve (in the mk3) you need to swap in the engine harness and computer
7MGTE--3.0- 24 vlave (in the mk3) you need to swap in the engine harness and computer
2JZGE--3.0- 24 valve (in the mk4) very costly to put in the mk2
2JZGTE--3.0- 24 valve (in the mk4)very costly to put in the mk2
