Removing Tranny

So ive been helping my friend rebuild his 84 Supra 5 speed but we are unable to remove the tranny from the old engine... we are able to pull it out about 2 $0.25 quarters. I thought about removing the fork but im not sure if you have to pull it out. Any input would be greatly apreciated. Thanks. Oh and the engine is out of the car on the hoist.

Sounds like the input shaft is frozen to the clutch disk. I suggest applying liberal ammounts of "beat the fuck out of with a hammer" or slide-hammer if you've got one. ...how I do it, I'm sure someone else will have some genius idea to shadow me though.
