Machine? As in a code reader? Dyno measures hp.. What is your car doing that you figure something is wrong?

Woo hoo, 100th post! haha

Dyno???

If it's something wrong w/ the motor, the dyno would be a good way to make the problem worse... Not to mention the $120 an hour of dyno time for this to happen.

Yes, it's called a digital multimeter... Easily available @ your local Auto Parts store....

I have had killer luck with the ebay $8 specials. ...just make sure you don't get one of those fack'n autoranging ones. ...those work about as well as a one-legged blind mexican.

A dyno is a great way to find problems! It cost an arm and a leg to do it but when you can run a car up on one and data long amlost everything it makes fiding problems much ez'r.

Dean,

Can't view the pictures, but if it's the "Black Diagnostic Box/Toyota EFI Checker" then I "think" this can only be used on the Non-TCCS cars. Which would rule out a 85. I know they can be used on MKI's & 82 MKII's.

So in reality.... What's REALLY lurking underneath the "in pieces" AE86, is a hidden Mustang or Dynojet dyno??? WOOHOO!! More reasons for meet's @ Shawns garage!! And if the car exhausts are loud enough when we do the pulls, it's an even BETTER excuse to piss off his neighbors that he can't stand!! :zzzzz:

Links were working at first, now they don't.
Try this address and let me know if you can see the pics. They are the last two pics on page two.

It came along with the race car when I got it. I guess I should try it out some day...
