I'll try and be nice, really. If it's in that bad of shape,in reality, you'll be money ahead buying a better shell, and using this one for parts.I'm sure others will chime in,but, trust me in this one.

I agree. If the car was really nice and already was in awesome shape and needed either a quarter or a hatch, I'd say go for it. A car that needs both a hatch and quarter that you know of is not a good platform. Besides, if the quarter panel is rotted I would like to see what's going on with the rear wheel-houses, they're probablly rotted too. Poke a screwdriver just above the seem on the bottom of the quarter panel in the back and see what happens too.

May I say welcome to the wonderful-rust-world of Supras? I love my supra more than any car, but I cry when I think of the rust problems car's from the 1980's have. I agree with the above poster, check the wheel houses, also, pop the back seat up (its easy, just two clips) and check there. If you have a lot of rust I would suggest buying a new shell from a sunny state like california, or arizona, if you can afford the shipping.

5 bucks says that 22r runs and looks better than the rest of the car. :)

After tearing my car apart...I fould a lot of rust just hiding. The part that scared me was the section with the taillights.....I could move it three inches.....A good rearend collision....I would have been dead.

This was hit from the side.
Still held up pretty good.

I had no quarters on either side, my spare tire well was almost completely rusted out, the area below the taillights were eaten across the back of the car. If i was hit it would have hit the tank and Ka boom.....
