The 2.5" System was built off 17.5" cat system(82-84); so in order to bolt this to any year MK2 you will need to purchase/or already have a 17.5" cat/test. The 3" System was built off a 12.5" cat system(late 84-86); so in order to bolt this to any year MK2 you will need to purchase/or already have a 12.5" cat/test pipe. In order to keep costs down I will not build seperate systems; both have the same mounting point to the header/downpipe so as long as you get/have the appropriate cat/testpipe it's all the same.

Pricing
2.5" Cat Back Piping Only (includes hardware and gaskets): $280
3.0" Cat Back Piping Only (includes hardware and gaskets): $310
Raptor Racing Magnaflow Modified Muffler (input expanded and hangers welded on): $180
Raptor Racing Polished Stainless Test Pipe (any size): $65
Raptor Racing Magnaflow High Flow Cat with Stainless Heatshield and Stainless Flanges: $135
Raptor Racing Stainless Core(not ceramic) Ultra High Flow Cat: $250
Black Powdercoating on the Muffler: $45
Ceramic Coating (Piping and Test Pipe) - Please Inquire

question, sound files are with the 3 inch or 2.5 inch? same question, but with the dyno, 3 or 2.5 ?

RaptorRacing
09-15-2006, 07:20 PM
All the sound files; pix and before and after gtech results are from the 2.5" system. The sound is very similar on the 3" system; I obviously can't do before and after 3" catback testing as there is no factory system to compare it to.

I will say this...the sound of the 2.5" system turns heads everywhere I go...those sound files do NOT do the system any justice.

George, interested in the 3" setup. Like I asked you before, if it would be possible to get the system done in v-band flanges instead of regular flanges. i'll shoot you the email in a day or 2 once I can figure out if the system will be adaptable to the 2jz+ single. You keep pushing the envelope for custom MKII parts, I can see many paychecks going your way in the future.

Damn, that's a great looking system. If I didn't already have two Brullen systems, I'd grab these in a NY minute. George's prices are better than Brullen's were, too.

George, will these be available in the future after the group buy?

These will be available after the group buy but obviously not at group buy pricing. Expect pricing on the piping to go up 10%-20% as holding stock costs money...the less I have to see these things the cheaper I can give them away.

You keep pushing the envelope for custom MKII parts, I can see many paychecks going your way in the future.

Thanks so much...it's very encouraging that people notice these things.

Thanks for the reply George !!!
I am ordering a complete exhaust 2.5" including header ( :woot: when it's finished testing ) for my 82 . I thought about going 3" as plans for a 7mgte are in the future.... probably years away is the problem so rather than bog around with less bottom end i figured it is best to squeeze every pony out of the 5m until the ideal 7m comes around. With this in mind the 2.5" sounds like the way to go. Besides i'm suffering from MSS so I can always use it on the 84 :zzzzz: Can't wait!!! Can;t wait!!!! gotta get my garage up quick!!!! Busy winter commin up :woohoo:
George thank you !!!!!!!! now how to tell the wife I just spent her xmas present money !!!! Hmmmmm......#uck it.......... Merry Xmas to me !!!!!!!!!:buttkick:

In case anyone is interested I forgot to mention: the muffler can include any of the ones in Magnaflow's Street/Race Muffler line up seen here:

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopdisplayproducts.asp?zone=main&id=386

Here are the execptions:

* Round Mufflers will NOT work
* DTM tips will NOT be offered
* Muffler Must be 15x8 oval body and 14" long
* Tips must be 7" long

Please keep in mind that this system will work with any muffler that is 14" long but Magnaflow's are all I will offer on this group buy. If you have your ownn or another you're interested in it's an easy fix as you'll just have to build your own hanger.

might be a dumb question but all those mufflers have a 2.25" inlet. wouldnt there be a 3/4" difference between the muffler and exhaust piping? btw, im looking at getting something with a dual tip that would fit through the cutout on my erebuni body kit.

They come modded, correctly. If you cut the end off, they are 3" internaly.Look at my install thread, you'll see a pic of the welded on inlet.

Also...if you check the first pix in the group buy that is a 3" pipe INSIDE the muffler input.

In the first post I have 2 links to other posts I've made which explain how this is done.

RaptorRacing

Ladies and Gents;

I think I found a muffler which offers a far better match for the MK2. Magnaflow's 14815 is very similar to the one in the pix above except it has 3" tips vs the 14816's 3.5" tips. In my opinion it's a far better looking more fitting to the MK2.

If you are getting in this group buy you can pick any one of the mufflers as I've pointed out above...I'm just trying to help you pick the one with the more fitting look.

I took the liberty of buying one and quickly painting it black; I will have it installed on my car in the next few days to show you all what it looks like. While you wait for those pictures here is what it looks like off the car. The black muffler is the 14815 that I'm refering too...the only non-painted unit is the 14816 that I currently have on my car.

So I'm having a conversation with stevrock the other day and thought crosses my mind. Considering it's going to take a few months to make the systems no sense holding ALL your money will production starts.

Soooo....here's the plan: those of you participating in the group buy who pay for the 2.5" or 3" cat back piping have the option to purchase everything else at group buy prices when the systems are ready to ship. This means all you have to pay for now is the piping and all other expenses: shipping; mufflers; cats etc. can be paid just prior to me shipping the systems out.

Lets all thanks Steve is somehow he thinks it was his idea :)...ciao.

I am interested in getting a 2.5 system with test pipe and muffler, but I would like a single tip muffler. Is there any way I could get the Magnaflow 14827, and have it modified and the hanger attached. Here is a link to the muffler:

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=769

RaptorRacing
10-01-2006, 07:29 PM
Yes Sean that is fully possible; we can modify that inlet and weld on the hanger for you. The dimensions are the same so there will be no fitment issues.

Will the 3" be compatible with a stock 6mge? I remember in the past postings that the 3" works best if you have a turbo but somewhat degrades a bit the normally aspirated ones and the 2.5" is the best compromise for the NA

Thanks

RaptorRacing
10-04-2006, 04:16 PM
Eric;

everything lines up if that's what you're asking. Are you n/a now with thoughts of going turbo in the future. Junkie has just installed a 3" system on his car with no degradation of low end power. You can read about this and his install in this thread:

http://forums.celicasupra.com/showthread.php?t=25259

If you are going to run a 3" system on an n/a you're going to need to get a cat/testpipe made up to mate the 3" system to your factory manifold.

If you are going to stay n/a no point in spending the extra $ on the 3" system.

ilovemysupramk2
10-04-2006, 04:35 PM
George,

I was thinking of getting a turbo but that won't happen in the near future so can you put me down for the 2.5" piping. I have the short cat btw which means I'm gonna need an extension pipe somewhere, will that be also available?

Thanks

RaptorRacing
10-04-2006, 04:37 PM
Eric;

by short cat do you mean the 12.5" cat or do you have some sort of custom cat/cat back on there now?

ilovemysupramk2
10-04-2006, 04:52 PM
Just the stock 12.5" cat.

So, I'll take a 2.5" pipe with your modified Magnaflow muffler.

Thanks

As much as i'm impressed with the way this setup looks, I still did mine alot cheaper. I installed a Magnaflow cat, got a straight 2.25" pipe from the cat all the way back to my Magnaflow muffler. Cost? $300 with the cat and the custom catback exhaust. The exhaust really turns heads and the note on idle is a nice low rumble. My magnaflow is a one in one out, but I got a dual chrome tip going on at the end of it. All mandrel bent, but my exhaust isn't eye candy compared to that.

My 0.02 cents, this is the way my custom exhaust sounds like:

CACressida; although I can appreciate a budget system more than anyone here I can't say I appreciate this post in this thread. What you have posted has absolutely nothing to do with this group buy and has no real value here IMHO. There are other places to post this information where I'm sure it will be appreciate...this is NOT the place.

As a mod I would normally delete this message but for now I will keep it up as an example of what NOT to do. Please put more thought into any future posts in the for sale/group buy section.

Ladies and Gents;

I'm being flooded with emails and pm's on this so thought it was time to put up a post. I'm hoping for some good news early next week but can't make any promises. Please keep an eye on this thread for details; I guarantee you the second I have any news you all will be the fist to know.

Well seeing the forum won't let me post up what I really wanted to here I'll make it short; sweet and to the point. As of Thursday all the parts (header; catbacks) are in my possession. With my current insanely busy overtime schedule at my full time job I have gone through great length just to get this stuff in my possession this fast. Keep in mind that Raptor Racing is not my full time Job!!

Here's what's going to happen now: in the next 24-48hrs you will be getting an email/pm confirmation what you have ordered and what you owe. After payment is received I will get your muffler/cats built (if ordered)...once your order is complete it will be shipped out ASAP.

Please do not send me email/pms asking when your order will ship; I've gone through a lot of hassle to get this done while working at my full time job. If that doesn't convince you it will get to you as soon as humanly possible I don't know what will. I will not be replying to any pm's/emails/posts asking for updates...and if I do the answer will be: "5 minutes later now that I have to answer this". Your parts will be shipped out as quick as humanly possible; if you are in that much of a rush you can pay the massive premium for overnight shipping.

Sorry...not sure how you got missed...I'm sorry.

Not getting PC'd or a cat won't necessarily speed up the process. Keep in mind that in between the cat backs and headers I have a few dozens orders to ship out so even though all the systems are in this is not an overnight project.

UPDATE

I apologize to the rest of your for not updating this posting earlier; been a little on the crazy side lately. This group buy is a little more overwhelming than I thought and it's taking me a little longer than I thought to get everything ready.

Currently the headers are almost done from the coater; the cats should all be build by tomorrow and the test pipes are ready. The only issue we're having is the mufflers; about 70% of the mufflers were in stock when the order was place so they are already build. It's going to take me another couple of weeks to get my hands on the rest. Now depending on if you ordered powdercoating or not it will be another week delay. I'm going to use the first pay first ship rule on this if you ordered a muffler that is out of stock.

After that shipping will commence; again I apologize for the delay but believe me this is a lot more work than I can explain. As always I promise to have this stuff out as quick as possible. Like I told someone else the quicker I have this stuff shipped out the quicker I get my storage back and I can start working on my own car so nobody wants this stuff out faster than me.

As always I'm here if you have any questions or concerns so please let me know.

Got it;

the 70% who have their mufflers ready will be shipped as soon as they are picked up or as soon as they are done at the powdercoaters.

At this point in time it would be too much work for me to figure who is first and who isn't...I will do this prior to shipping and those individuals will know via a tracking number that their orders have been shipped.

Thanks again all...

Perfect. Thanks George. I am going to assume I am probably a part of the 30% then. haha....

No worries though, it wouldn't get installed until May anyways, when the engine is going to go back in after paint.

George,

Received yesterday a long flat box that appears to be the catback. Haven't opened it up yet, got home a little late last night. Anyway just wanted to say thanks for this GB, your efforts and time are very much appreciated.

You're the man.

I got my on Monday, new cat and piping. I couldn't wait to open mine, it all looks beautiful. Now I need to finish my 7m rebuild so I can hook it all up.

Thanks George,

Mark
