low voltage.. p brake light stuck on?

well today when i started my car.. my volotometer thing showed only 12 volts.. half way up, when its useually at 16, and my parking brake light is stuck on now... any ideas.. whats wrong?

Is your Voltmeter light on also???

That, and with the E-Brake light on, is a good indication that the alt has died. Run a Search, this has been covered way too many times to count.

my ebrake light is on also now, but wasnt like that when i first got the car. stupid check engine light also likes to pop on occasasionally but ill also run a search to see whats up

deviant, check your brake fluid if the ebrake is down. that also causes the brake light to come on. if brake and eng come on together its the alt.

lol why do you call me deviant when you know my real name, silly? But anyway, i kind of noticed that the CEL comes on when I start to pick up speed. I wouldnt know what speed it likes to come on at though with no speedo *sigh*

same here - i just replaced my alt and my brake light comes on from time to time but i don't et a battery light - alt isn't cheap neither.... :sadsmilie
