WTB: wanted to buy

WTS: [b]wanted to sell

tt/TT turbo timer or twin turbo depends on context of message

Someone should really put a glossary of abbreviations together. Newbie's and oldtimer's (read as older than dirt) sometimes have trouble picking up on some of these.

Another common one for those of us that have Red 85 - 86's.

SDR.... Super Deep Red (for those of us that are too lazy to spell it out). This is the factory Toyota paint name that came on the 85 - 86 US Spec cars.

(FYI, just recently found out that Canadian 85/86's are called Royal Red).

Sometimes, I'll refer Terra Cotta as "TC". Depends on how lazy I am.

Can't think of any other commonly used abbrev's for paint names at the moment.

TSRM: Toyota Service Repair Manual, aka: The Big Green Book. There is also a seperate Electrical Wiring Diagram manual that goes with it.

This is a example of a 85 TSRM & Electrical Wiring Diagram that is currently on EBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34233&item=2438091227

August 81, there was a MA61 Body/Chassis manual that was published. Pop's up on EBay on occasion. There is also a VERY rare 6MGE Supplimental Manual (Blue & White), that has only showed up twice on EBay. Archie Bowles (AJ) has one of them.

The 6MGE Supplement was a disapointment very lacking, not what you expect from an engine manual.

Really glad I didnt pay alot of $$ to get it.

I've just now noticed that we are missing some common engine abbrev's that we use all the time.... So....

EFI = Electronic Fuel Injection.
AFM = Air Flow Meter.
ISC = Idle Speed Control
TPS = Throttle Position Sensor.

LHD = Left Hand Drive.
RHD = Right Hand Drive.

(will add more later).

I am working on a 1988 n/a

DIN = Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V.

Yeah, seriously. They're the German equivilent of the ANSI (American National Standards Institute). If you remember really old keyboards (before USB, before P/S2) they had what was called a DIN connector. It's becuase it is actually DIN 41524. It's just a standard for production that was implemented by the DIN organization.

DIN size car stereo mounts are actually ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 7736. Double-DIN just means twice as big.

DIN = 180mm x 50mm; Double-DIN = 180mm x 100mm
