Can I use an 83 igniter and coil on an 82

Hey I need help. Can any one tell me if I can use the igniter and coil off an 83 on an 82?

No, '82 is an oddball to other year MkIIs. MkIs share the same one IIRC although that probably won't help you any.

Supposedly a coil/ignitor from a 81 will work w/ a 82. Don't take my word for it.

80 I've been told is different than a 81.

79 is a VERY ODDBALL setup & will NOT work at all with later years (finally got to see a 79 ignitor/coil setup. Not the same as the Slug).

You can use a '83 ignitor ONLY if your production date is 8/82 or later ie 9/82, 10/82, 11/82, 12/82 which is an early '83 model yr

82/08-84/07 #89661-22040 M/T
82/08-84/07 #89961-22050 A/T
