I am attemptine to purge my fuel line prior to starting my supra post rebuild.

When i turn the key to the on position i get no signal to the fuel pump. However once i engage the starter there is power. Is this normal, or should the fuel system prime when the key is in the on position/.?

I have recently completed extensive restoration including fuel tank removal/repair as well as fresh head install.

Thanks all

From my understanding the pump is activated by the AFM which only moves when air is being sucked threw it. But it is also triggered by the starter or its circuitry. The syptoms you describe apear to be completely normal u will just have to d/c the distributor or coild idk which and crank the motor over to purge the lines. Have you tried removing the filter and turning the key to the on position and moving the AFM flap by hand? I dont know if it works but it might. Hope this helps somewhat.

P.S. Download the TSRM out of the FAQ section if u havent already its a lifesaver
